2-20KW transmitter family was introduced to the sector at the CABSAT Mena Exhibition held in Dubai on 3-5 March 2009.
This High Power FM Transmitter project supported by the European Union was started in early 2008 and was first introduced to the Radio-TV broadcasting sector.
OM30 model 30W Digital Exciter developed in this project has AES/EBU input, remote control which can control all parameters by PC and 90 dB S/N. The Front Panel has a knob that can change all parameters and can be viewed on the LCD Panel. Many renowned manufacturers assessed the OM30 and saw that it can meet the needs of the industries during the world move to digital broadcasting in this period.
OFA2K model Amplifier developed in this project has a 4 pc’s 500W Pallet Amplifier which uses the latest generation of the LDMOS transistors. Forward and reflected powers, Voltage and Current values and in/out temperature values of each amplifier can be viewed from the LCD Panel of OFA2K.
Each 500W Pallet Amplifier of OFA2K has a separate power supply and in case of malfunction, Transmitter will run at lower power. The protection circuit of the device works as foldback logic. This means if reflected power increases output power will decrease automatically for the safe working of the Transmitter.
Similarly, if the temperature exceeds 70 degrees, transmitter power passes automatically to the safe working range is reduced. A special cooling system is designed for the transistor. Due to using more powerful transistors, special cooling techniques and devices used in the 7 / 24 security operation has been achieved. The transmitters up to 20 kW are manufactured by combining OFA2K 2 kW Amplifiers. Combining is done by “Wilkinson Coupler”. Each Transmitter has the Control Module. This module operates cooling fans of terminating resistors if power decreases or any failure occurs. If the temperature of terminating resistors exceeds 70 degrees, this module cuts off the power of Exciter and switch off the Transmitter. Control Module also cut off the output power at the increasing reflection, decrease or increase of supply voltage. The operator is informed by GSM messages if these cases occur and the operator can reset and operate the Transmitter by sending GSM messages or via the Internet.
